Beating the Bounds on Greenham Common

Meet at the field gate close to Greenham Common Control Tower to walk the Commons and beat the bounds. This Anglo Saxon custom, still in practice today, was used to confirm the boundaries of parishes, boroughs and other civic areas. Nowadays its an excuse for a good walk as well.

Although starting on a gravel path, the walk also takes place across some rough terrain (scrub, grassland), stout shoes recommended, and not for anyone with poor mobility. Meet at the Control Tower on the Common (parking available) at 2pm. Pre-booking not required.

The organisers accept no liability for accidental injury, walkers taking part do so at their own risk.
