It was a commercial hub with grain stores and coal yards, and had been home to newbury fire station and bus station. It has also been linked with the short-lived Newbury Castle, besieged in the 12th century.
There is a charge of £5 for the talk. Book online by 29th September, after which bookings will close, and attendees will receive an email with the link to attend.
