Come and meet the New Model Army, in the form of Col Nicholas Devereux's Regiment, at this family friendly event to commemorate the 375th anniversary of the Battle of Newbury in 1644. Experience waht life was like for soldiers and their families, in the troubled times of the English Civil War, and find out why Shaw House was such an important part of the Roalist defence during the Second Battle of Newbury on 27th October 1644. Visit the "Dressed for Battle" exhibition, and see the presentation on the Battle of Newbury by author Chris Scott, 11.30am to 12.30pm.
