A walk starting in the Market Place, moving to St Nicolas Church (where three Protestants were condemned to death), on to West Mills (site of fulling mills) and then back along the canal to Northbrook Street, the old Tudor cafe and Jack of Newbury’s house.

 

Your Guide David Peacock researches, writes and lectures on the history of the Newbury area. He is the author of The Story of Newbury (2011), has written for local newspapers, taught evening classes, and given talks to many clubs and societies. 

Cost £5 per adult, £4 concessions. Each walk last about one and a half hours, and has limited spaces. Walks start at the Corn Exchange in the Market Place, and tickets are available from Newbury Conr Exchange, Market Place, Newbury RG14 5BD
