Arms and Armour of the Civil Wars and the Littlecote House Collection - Zoom Talk

West Berkshire Museum presents as part of its Talking History programme, a talk by Keith Dowen. The Littlecote House Armoury, now kept at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, is the finest collection of arms and armour from the time of the Civil Wars. Drawing upon pieces from the collection, documentary sources and artistic depictions, this talk will examine the production, use and effectiveness of arms and armour during this turbulent period. Keith Dowen is Assistant Curator at the Royal Armouries and author of 'Arms and Armour of the English Civil Wars'. He has a particular interest in the production and supply of armour during the 17th century and the role of armoured cavalry on the battlefield.

This talk is on Zoom and is free, but attendees must prebook by 2nd March. A link to book is here:
