Dunkirk: A Miracle of Deliverance

In May 1940, thousands of British and allied troops were backed up against the beaches at Dunkirk by the advance of the German armies. In a remarkable operation codenamed Dynamo, over 338,000 troops were evacuated safely, in what Churchill claimed was a 'miracle of deliverance'. Sue Ellis looks at the story of that deliverance.
